 Vision Support Trading (VST) is one of the UK’s leading providers of dedicated transcription service solutions for the visually impaired. One of our unique characteristics is that we are a social enterprise working alongside our parent charity Vision Support so all the profits from our commercial activities are fed back into the community to assist people with sight loss to maintain their independence. However, unlike many transcription providers VST is a dedicated professional service that deals with thousands of communications each week.
As a social enterprise our profits are covenanted back to our parent charity, Vision Support, to fund services such as:
- Dedicated resource centres offering a wide range of services, user friendly products and advice to people with a visual impairment and their families.
- Home visits to provide assistance and friendship.
- Telephone befriending service to provide human contact and support.
- Organising of group trips and events.
- Social groups providing a wide range of activities.
- Mobile units to reach areas that do not have a dedicated Resource centre.
- Administration and grant advice and support.
With the assistance of the funding provided by VST, Vision Support has been able to expand the range of services and the number of people it can reach. This has lead to more people benefiting from the services and support that Vision Support provides and makes a difference to numerous people’s lives each and every day.
So although VST is a professional operation our profits do not go to share holders, but to the very people that we serve with our Transcription products. We are in the business of helping people with a visual impairment both through what we do and the money that we raise.
